**Thanks to Melanie J.S. for the great picture! We’ll be choosing pics via Twitter & Facebook from our members each month – if we choose yours, you’ll get a special treat! Be sure to tag G-Free Foodie!**

The August G-Free Foodie Box Club Shipment held all kinds of surprises for our members! In addition to the 5 G-Free Foodie approved artisan food products they scored, the got a super-cool popsicle spatula & a taste-it-here-first sample of the new flavors from KIND Bars. Here’s what our Gluten Free & Gluten Free + Dairy Free members boxes contained - plus they got recipes, servings ideas & other Members-Only info.

September boxes hit the wind next week, so Join Now or miss out 'til October!

Sonoma Syrup Co. Pomegranate Grenadine: As a kid who grew up drinking homemade grenadine from pomegranates we grew on our ranch, I cannot explain to you how deeply I cringe when somebody busts out that scary Red #40 syrup an mixes up a Shirley Temple or a Tequila Sunrise. That's just not how it's supposed to be, folks. That syrup ain't right.
This is. The folks at Sonoma Syrup Co. are doing it the way it should be done - cane sugar, pomegranate juice, salt & vanilla - with a little Vitamin C so it stays fresh. That's it. That's all. We love their Breakfast Syrups & Cocktail Mixes too, check them out & thank me later.

Gluten Free Mama's Pie Crust Mix: Summer berries are here, and stone fruit too! That calls for pies & cobblers, and lots of them. If I'm being honest, I'll share with you that I'm not cut out for pastry work. Even when I wasn't gluten free, my temperament wasn't built for the ultra-precise measuring needed to turn out flaky crusts & fluffy, yeast-risen breads. I can, however, follow package directions.Enter Gluten Free Mama's Pie Crust Mix - it turns out easy to prepare, flaky crust that gluten-eaters will love too. I like to add a little vanilla extract & cinnamon if I'm using an apple or peach filling, and it's great for cobblers too. (PS - I use GFM's Coconut Flour Blend all the time, if you're placing an order, you'll want some of that & her Pizza Crust Mix too.)

California Black Mission Figs: It's Fig season in California, and I couldn't resist sending our members some Grade A Dried Black Mission Figs, the best you can get. I can't believe how many people tell me they've never tried them - I'll cook them with some shallots & wine for an incredible sauce for grilled meats, diced them to throw in chili or stew for a bit of sweetness, chop them for baked goods, and serve them with cheese & honey for a Mediterranean-style last course.  So go on, Get Figgy with It, and tweet me your recipes pics! Be sure to hashtag #CAFigs

Mariposa Baking Co. Herbed Crostini Crackers: Long ago, when I first went Gluten Free,  Mariposa Baking Co. saved my faith. I had tried some really bad breads, and I was not OK with the prospect of a bread-like-lead future. Then I tried Mariposa's baguettes on a trip to San Francisco's Ferry Building, and literally teared up: this G-Free thing might be OK after all. These crackers are made from those very baguettes, and are perfect for tapenade, brie & jam, or topped with a little pesto & a grilled shrimp. These crackers are  only available directly from Mariposa Baking Co. stores & online - but you'll want to order some baguettes, sandwich rolls & focaccia anyway, so you can just add herbed crackers to your order.

Gluten Free Please Graham Crackers: Here's the thing about most Gluten Free Graham Crackers - I find them flimsy. It's not that big a deal when I'm making a graham cracker crust or spreading on a little nut butter, but it's a first-class pain when I'm trying to smoosh a recently-on-fire marshmallow or make an ice cream sandwich - I'd prefer to eat the marshmallow rather than wear it, if I have a choice. We really enjoy the flavor of these graham crackers from Gluten Free Please Bakery, and they held up to our rigorous s'mores testing too. The bakery also makes graham cracker bites, so check those out.

Our Bonus Sample was from KIND Bars - the new Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt nut bars are incredible, & the Dark Chocolate Chili Almond  bars are to die for too! The G-Free Foodie crew quickly scarfed up the few bars we had left over!

I popped a little gift in the box, because I couldn't help myself when I found Cool-Pop Spatulas, they're heat safe & dishwasher safe, so our members can scramble eggs with their new popsicle.

This was my first box and I so enjoyed almost all the products in it. Allergic to peanuts so gave the KIND Maple Glazed Pecan & Sea Salt nut bar to my gluten-free daughter who said it was so delicious that she looking for them in the stores. We both shared the crackers & will stock up on them when next in SF. I got all the figs--hooray! 4-year old grandson & I will use spatula to help us make his Friday morning green eggs. What a great way to try & share new products. Thank you.
