After being in private practice for years, and having cured his own IBS, Dr. Stephen Wangen developed a specialty in helping others solve their digestive problems.  He and his business partner started the IBS Treatment Center to make the clear focus of the practice to help more people cure their IBS.  Wangen said “Patients have reacted quite strongly and have come from all over North America and from overseas as well.  We have been expanding and plan to add more locations in the coming years.”

Reflecting on the years of experience in helping people cure their IBS, Dr. Wangen said, “The most common misconception I encounter is the idea that IBS has no cause or cure.  It has many different causes, from celiac disease to food allergies to infections to thyroid issues and beyond.  You don’t have to just live with IBS.  But without the right testing you will have a hard time identifying that cause and finding a successful treatment.”

Dr. Wangen and IBS Treatment Center love to make connections with those in the food allergy and intolerance communities.  “We learn a lot about the food products, cookbooks, and other tools that make it easier all the time to improve health by eating right for you.”  said Wangen.  Dr. Wangen sits on the board of directors for the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America and co-founded the Food Allergy and Intolerance Foundation – formerly the Innate Health Foundation.  Both provide excellent support and information to their affected communities.

Thank you Dr. Wangen for participating in the G-Free Foodie Eat Well Event and thank you for your continued support & study in the area of food allergies and IBS.
