How do you top your gluten-free toast? I like to get creative with toppings for both myself + the kiddo, who would probably eat Nutella 24/7 if I let her. Yes, I'm on team avocado toast too: I usually smash some diced avo up with a splash of red pepper vinaigrette to make a smear and top it with a little salt + pepper and some sprouts if I have them. But I like to branch out a bit, and when Schar sent me a sample of their new Artisan 10 Grains & Seeds Bread, I thought it was time to share my favorite gluten-free toast topping ideas with y'all.
The great news is that this bread toasted evenly (don't you hate it when the ends scorch and the center doesn't even crisp? Meh.) and held up to all my topping options! I find that some GF breads don't react well to moisture, resulting is a soggy lunchbox situation. It's even worse when there are gaping holes in the center of the loaf - if I'd wanted doughnuts, I'd have made them myself thank-you-very-much. The 10 Grains bread has a tight, even texture and a lovely flavor, plus it's dairy and egg free. Brilliant.
Here are my favorite other-than-avocado gluten-free toast toppings:
Apricot Jam + Coppa or Prosciutto + Parmesan
Cashew Butter + Strawberries + Shaved Coconut
Provolone or Fresh Mozzarella + Basil + Tomatoes
Nutella + Figs (or any other in-season fruit)
I'd love to hear your favorites, so let me know!
