Product Review: American Gra-Frutti's gourmet gluten-free goodies

Recently I received samples of some of the new gourmet gluten-free baked goods from American Gra-Frutti. All American Gra-Frutti products are produced in a dedicated, gluten-free facility using premium ingredients by company Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Marilyn Santulli.

My care package of freshly baked gluten-free treats contained:

    Apple Cinnamon Muffins

    Blueberry Muffins

Cranberry Orange Walnut Muffins - new flavor

    Artisan Flatbread Crackers - new

    Cheesestraw Crackers - new

    Graham Crackers - new

Savory Sesame Almond Crackers - new

Dinner-sized Loaf of Multi-Grain Daily Bread - new

Dinner-sized Loaf of Flax & Nut Bread - new

I am pleased they are making a smaller size of their gluten-free muffins and that they can be bought in a four pack for $5.99.  Their muffins are loaded with flavor and now you can save some calories by eating the smaller size. We usually cut them in half and enjoy half at a time with breakfast or as an afternoon snack.  My favorite flavor is the apple cinnamon with the sweet potato (seasonal) a close second.  We really liked the flavor of the cranberry orange walnut muffins and appreciated the texture the walnuts added.

Their new line of gluten-free crackers has an option for everyone.  The cheesestraw crackers are flaky, just like a Cheez-it and they have a bold cheesy flavor coupled with a spicy kick.  The savory sesame almond crackers have a great taste and a similar texture to the cheesestraws.  The flatbread crackers remind me of the type of crackers that come out in a 'bread' basket at a fancy restaurant.  They were crunchy, but not too crunchy and tasted great alone, or dipped in tapenade, or hummus.  My favorite cracker of the bunch is the graham crackers.  They were more like a cookie with their sweet cinnamon flavor, so we topped them with almond butter and enjoyed one of our favorite childhood snacks.

Next up were the breads.  I really like the ability to eat fresh gluten-free bread whenever possible and these breads did not disappoint.  The Flax and Nut bread was our favorite, which is shocking because this I don’t like any type of nuts in bread.  This bread has an addictive flavor and we enjoyed eating it plain, topped with dairy-free butter, and we even used it to make sandwiches.  The multi-grain loaf was also tasty, but we preferred it toasted and topped with almond butter, tapenade, or garlic butter.

What is really great about the products from American Gra-Frutti is they have a wheat-like texture without the gluten. There is no crumbling, or weird aftertaste, so these gluten-free baked goods can be served to your most discriminating friends and they will enjoy every bite.  Their baked goods are also reasonably priced!

All of these items are available for sale at their Marietta Bake House.  They are also for sale at three local Whole Foods Markets (Buckhead, Merchants Walk, and Sandy Springs).  Orders can be placed by contacting the company and shipping is available.  You can even find American Gra-Frutti's hamburger buns, hot dog buns, caramel crunch and cupcakes at Turner Field's Gluten Free Food Cart.

Please keep in mind that American Gra-Frutti bakes with almonds and walnuts.  Only their Wholesome White Bread, They'll Never Know/You Love Chocolate Chip Cakes, Cheesestraw Crackers, Graham Crackers, Cupcakes and Pimento Cheese Spread are nut free.
