Landmark study is important step in protecting celiac and gluten sensitive community.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has awarded the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness (NFCA) a $50,000 grant that will fund research in the area of gluten in medications. This landmark study will be the first scientific research conducted on this topic.
The study aims to characterize the problem of unlabeled gluten in medication and raise awareness of the potential harm that can occur to patients who ingest medications that they do not recognize as containing gluten.
