There is so much going on in the gluten-free market that it is hard to keep up at times. When I learn something new it needs to be shared, so new product and restaurant news is listed below in alphabetical order.
Celiac Specialties - will be making the transition to their new facility between September 15 and October 7th. During this time we will not be able to ship out any product to our customers. If you would like to place an order to receive product please do so by September 11 in order to guarantee arrival the following week. They appreciate your patience in this matter and look forward to serving you with a larger product line in the future.
Enjoy Life - Kroger will begin carrying their Dairy Free, Soy Free, Gluten Free chocolate chips
Joan's GF Great Bakes will soon offer a gluten free, dairy free, egg free bagel. They have had so many requests from people with multiple food allergies and they are listening.
Kim and Scott's - is working on a gluten-free pretzel. This company makes gourmet soft pretzel that are sold frozen.
Kroger - will begin carrying Udi's Gluten Free Foods bread and muffins soon. The products will be sold fresh and stocked on a specially made rack just for Udi's. Look for the products to start turning up over the next month.
Ray Sutton, founder of NOW Bakery, engaged the Evenson Design Group to create the identity program, packaging and web presence for the company and its new cookie line. The treats are organic, gluten and dairy free. In that spirit, Evenson Design of Culver City CA lessened the clients carbon footprint by packaging the cookies in 100% biodegradable kraft bags that use recycled and post consumer materials, and are lined with EarthFirst compostable film made from annually renewable plants. The label is printed on FSC and Rainbow Alliance certified 100% post consumer paper.
P.F. Chang's - has a new gluten-free dessert. It is a mini Triple Chocolate Mousse served in a shot glass and the bottom layer is a flourless cake. The price is $2.00 and it should be available at all P.F. Chang's locations, but call first to verify.
Udi's Gluten Free Foods - has a number of new products in the works: hamburger buns, hot dog buns, dinner rolls, cinnamon raisin bagel, multi-grain bagel, bran muffin and a new bread. No set distribution date yet.
