Where & What I'm Eating

Here’s what I’ve been noshing on that I think you should try!

Dungeness Crab Risotto at Scoma’s San Francisco

San Francisco is certainly the place to eat Dungeness Crab, and Scoma’s has been a favorite of my family for years. They get the crab risotto incredibly right – a creamy, hearty rice full of peas, mushrooms and lots of sweet crab. Gluten Free options are clearly marked on the menu – give the Lobster Bisque a try too.

Coconut Cupcakes & Eclairs from Miglet’s Gluten Free Bakery

I thought nothing was going to top Miglet’s Coconut Cupcakes (Red Velvet is a close second) – then I tried their delicious eclairs. Something crazy is going on in the back of that bakery, I swear. The eclairs are vanilla bean cream-filled perfection, and the cupcakes are moist, light & delicious. They’ve got pies, doughnuts, cookies & some hard to find groceries  – and are mindful about egg, nut & dairy allergies too.

Shrimp Remoulade at Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Some restaurants become chains because they know what they’re doing – and I think that’s the case with Ruth’s Chris. Well edited wine lists, servers & bartenders that are serious about service, and – wait for it – a lengthy Gluten Free menu. Certainly the steaks are amazing – but the Shrimp Remoulade appetizer has been making me happy lately,  gorgous jumbo shrimp perfectly cooked and presented with a tangy remoulade that’s completely Gluten Free.

  1. I wouldn't know how to act if I was able to eat out! 🙂 Other than Chick Fil A and Outback, it is not possible here. 🙁

  2. Monica – Be sure to check out our Gluten Free Restaurant database to find more options in your area!
